Director of Sales-Northern VA

Job Location: Northern VA (JO#1645)

Summary

We need a Director of Sales to manage a sales staff of 5+ Senior Account Executives in a software solutions selling environment. Strong understanding of enterprise contact management and deep knowledge of  SAP, Oracle,
PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards financial environments is a strong plus.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ongoing development of new business
  • Manage sales staff of at least 5 Account Executives
  • Growing and enhancing strategic client relationships in the area of data capture and workflow software solutions.
  • Working directly with clients, service team, and senior management to effectively sell the company’s services and solutions.
  • Monitor and manage sales activities for strategic accounts to achieve or exceed assigned revenue objectives, including:
    • Contact and visit accounts to determine needs.
    • Create and perform sales presentations to match company’s products/services with identified needs and address client issues and objections.
    • Sell products/services through face-to-face contact.
    • Remain knowledgeable of company’s products/services to facilitate sales efforts.
    • Maintain regular schedule of contact with customers via phone/onsite visits to ensure satisfaction, and alert of new or improved products/services.
    • Engage in relationship building and networking activities to develop additional sales opportunities.
    • Provide feedback to development team on customer requirements and business opportunities.
    • Work seamlessly with development, business architects and customer support team to ensure quality service delivery and effective implementation of products at customer sites.
    • Work with sales team to devise sales plans and strategies to accurately forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
    • Develop account plans and sales strategies that will ensure sustainable business growth.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to determine effective sales techniques.
    • Determine ways to differentiate from competitors.
    • Develop and enhance business relationships with existing customers to maximize account penetration and customer satisfaction.

 

Education and Experience

  • Must have managed a geographically dispersed sales organization of at least 5 people for at least 5 years.
  • At least 5+ years experience in enterprise software where the average deal size was 500k plus.
  • At least 20 years in sales with experience in technology, software, services (any combination)
  • A verifiable track record of exceeding both personal and team quotas.
  • Proven track record of promotions to greater responsibility and/or sales awards that would indicate competence.
  • Prefer most recent positions have been with start-up companies with revenues under $50M

Skills Required

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficient to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Entrepreneurial drive, strong work ethic and passion for technology.
  • Strong relationship building and networking skills.
  • Ability to articulate the business value of technical solutions to all levels of an organization.
  • PC skills for client presentations and demos. Familiarity with pipeline software a definite plus.
  • College degree is desired
