Management Support Specialist-Washington DC

In order to effectively manage the operations of the ESE Organization, the ESE Chief requires a Management Support Specialist to provide expert support in the planning of initiatives, execution of initiatives, gathering and organization of information, document preparation, resolution of technical issues and other tasks to facilitate accomplishment of the Chief’s goals.

The role is to provide support to the Chief of ESE to increase his effectives and assist in reaching management goals.  This role requires a seasoned IT professional with substantial information gathering and writing experience, and a sound technical background.

The Management Support Specialist is expected to take a proactive approach and setup the position and the environment according to this  description and integrate the Chief into its operations.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, plan initiatives for Chief
  • Execute initiatives according to plan
  • Under general direction, gather information for Chief
  • Compile and analyze the information
  • Produce a quality document with the results of the information gathering and analysis
  • Provide technical assessment and assistance to the Chief
  • Gather and analyze information on technical issues
  • Organize meetings and produce agendas
  • Document the results of meetings
  • Track Chief’s requests to individuals and follow-up
  • Coordinate the work of intern(s) supporting the Chief
  • Perform ad hoc activities for the Chief to facilitate the accomplishment of his goals

Education and Experience

  • Substantial experience working in information technology organizations
  • Excellent capabilities and experience in document preparation
  • Strong technical background in a range of information technologies
